Case studies

Work, with the status on the label

Three live websites built from scratch, one flagship engagement, and the tooling behind them — live, ongoing, internal, and in beta. Each one states exactly what was done, what the evidence is, and what isn't claimed.

Live
Publicly reachable on its intended domain and independently checked.
Ongoing
An active engagement — responsibilities are real, outcomes only claimed when measured.
Internal Tool
Working internal software, production-connected, not a finished public product.
Delivered
Handed off or technically validated without implying a final-domain launch.
Validation / Beta
Built, but still being proven. Labelled that way until the evidence exists.

Websites I've built

Live, fast, self-hosted sites built from scratch — the core of what I make.

Education / local services

Live

A trilingual school website rebuilt for speed, search, and safe handoff

A California contractor-license school's site was rebuilt from a React single-page app into a fast static Astro site in English, Spanish, and Korean — now live at unioncls.com.

Role
Designer-developer and technical operator — built by me

Community initiative — Alaska

Live

A fast, honest public site for a community emergency-readiness initiative

A static Astro site I built from scratch for Girdwood Rapid Response — the Turnagain Arm Rapid Response Initiative — with a privacy-safe live donation tally, a safety self-check, and honesty guardrails (911 disclaimer, no nonprofit or tax-deductible claims) built in. Live at girdwoodrapidresponse.com.

Role
Designed and built by me, end to end — from the brief idea to the live site

Vehicle rental — Alaska

Live

A live booking router that turns ‘which ATV, how long?’ into a checkout link

A live Astro/static website for Alaska ATV Rentals that acts as the clean decision layer for an ATV/UTV rental fleet — routing every rental choice to the right Xola checkout, and the complicated cases to a human.

Role
Built and maintained by me — architecture, build, and booking-data model

Also built & hosted: sebsel.com — an author website for my father's novel. A family project rather than a client engagement, so it isn't written up as a case study — listed here because I build and run it end to end like the others.

Flagship engagement

What a website grows into — Alaska Backcountry Access, end to end.

Flagship engagement · Adventure tourism — Alaska

Ongoing

Alaska Backcountry Access — running the whole digital operation

My main portfolio piece. I run a large part of ABA’s day-to-day digital business — customer communication and booking support, social and video, website and SEO, and a custom internal operations platform — with sub-admin access across its digital services. Several connected pieces, one accountable operator.

  • Digital operations & booking support
  • ABA Command Center — ops platform
  • SEO audit & implementation
  • Managed website (alaskabackcountryaccess.com)
  • Alaska ATV Rentals booking site
  • Instagram & YouTube content

CMS & Internal Tools

Tooling that makes a business safer and easier to run.

Controlled Beta

A safe way for clients to edit their own static websites

The Safe-Editing CMS lets a business update its approved content — text, images, links — while the site's structure stays locked. Every change is validated before it can apply. Now in controlled beta, managing content across three live client sites.

Role
Product design, build, and operations
